How to find out if a UK company is dissolved
A dissolved company no longer legally exists — and the register keeps its full record, so checking takes seconds.
Search the name here. By default our search shows live companies; tick "Include dissolved companies" to see the gone ones. A dissolved company's page shows the dissolution date and its final filings.
Two things people miss: a company can be struck off and restored (the page history shows both), and a similar name may have been re-registered by someone new — check the company number, which is never reused.
