On 18 July 2020 Daniel Rogers (Mr Rogers) made an application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £17,500 on behalf of Rogers Inspection Ltd (“RI”) using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in RI obtaining a BBL that was £17,500 more than it was entitled to. In that: •Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. RI was incorporated on 09 April 2018 On 18 July 2020 Mr Rogers applied for a BBL of £17,500 (on behalf of RI) declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £70,000 Mr Rogers acknowledged that RI ceased trading in 2018 and didn’t trade thereafter. RI’s end of year accounts to 30 April 2019 state a turnover of £nil RI’s end of year accounts to 30 April 2020 state a turnover of £nil RI received the BBL funds of £17,500 on 24 July 2020
