For the period of its trading between 11 April 2017 and 3 September 2019, Ivars Stals (“Mr Stals”) failed to ensure that Bromley Street Trading Ltd (“Bromley”) maintained or preserved adequate accounting records, or in the alternative, he failed to deliver up such records as were maintained or preserved. As a result of this it has not been possible to ascertain: The purpose of payments made from the Company bank account totalling £6,059,105 between 13 November 2017 and 30 September 2019, or that those payments were in the furtherance of Bromley’s business., To verify if £6,091,120 paid into Bromley’s bank account between 13 November 2017 and 30 September 2019 constituted the total sales made by the company, and if £248,600 of book debts disclosed at liquidation comprised the full extent of such assets. The validity of the HMRC claims against Bromley amounting to £1,505,378 based on VAT assessments. An accurate asset position upon Bromley’s liquidation. Professionally prepared accounts for the year ending 30 April 2019 recorded stock of £170,000 and debtors of £459,500. In the absence of adequate records, it is not possible to verify what happened to those assets between that date and liquidation, what other assets Bromley may have acquired and the assets of the company at liquidation. The veracity of accounts filed at Companies House on behalf of Bromley, in that the accounts to 30 April 2018 were signed by an individual who has never been recorded as a director of Bromley, and the following year accounts to 30 April 2019 were signed by Mr Stals, but do not reflect the information provided in that earlier year
