In an application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”), Matthew Steven Brewin (“Mr Brewin”) provided false or knowingly inaccurate information concerning the turnover of Geometrica Limited (“the Company”). As a result of this, the Company obtained a BBL of £20,000 which it was not fully entitled to, in that: The BBL scheme enabled a business to obtain a BBL of up to 25% of its turnover (for the calendar year 2019) up to a maximum of £50,000. Where a business was established after 1 January 2019, the applicant was required to apply a 25% limit to the estimated annual turnover from the date the business started. The Company was incorporated on 06 December 2018. In a questionnaire dated 01/02/2023, Mr Brewin confirmed that trading commenced in December 2018. Filed accounts for the period 6 December 2018 to 31 December 2019 show turnover of £52,919. Mr Brewin applied for a BBL on 02 July 2020, declaring the Company turnover as £90,000. The Company received a BBL of £20,000 into its bank account on 06 July 2020. A BBL of £20,000 required a declaration of £80,000 in respect of the Company turnover. By applying for, and securing, a BBL of £20,000, Mr Brewin caused the Company to obtain more BBL funds than entitled to. Whilst BBL repayments of £1,065 have been made, the balance of £19,019 remains outstanding.
