From 08 February 2019 to 30 April 2024 (the date of Liquidation), Michael Lawrence (“Mr Lawrence”) caused Lawrence Geo Services Ltd (“LGS”) to trade to the detriment of HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”) by failing to meet its tax obligations in respect of Value Added Tax (VAT), Corporation Tax (CT), and PAYE/NIC as and when due, so as at the date of Liquidation £258,354.10 remained outstanding to HMRC. In that: VAT: • For the first two periods of trading, assessments were raised for periods 01/19 (£2,805.00) and 04/19 (£1,549.00) totalling £4,354.00. • For periods 07/19 to 04/21 returns totalling £82,989.82 were submitted, no payments were made against this liability and the full amount remained outstanding at Liquidation. • For periods 07/21 to 10/23 no returns were submitted, and assessments were raised totalling £45,927.22, charges and interest of £7,424.80 were applied due to non-submission and non-payment in full. • Six payments were made totalling £1,549.00 between 6 November 2019 and 25 March 2020. • At the date of liquidation, £139,146.84, remained outstanding to HMRC in respect of VAT. CT: • For the accounting years ending April 2019 to 2022, £61,586.25 of CT was incurred, comprising £58,268.97 of CT net charges and £3,217.38 of penalties for non-payment. • For the accounting year ending April 2023, no CT net charge was raised, but a penalty of £100 was raised due to non-payment. • One payment was made in the accounting year ending April 2020 against the outstanding liability totalling £2,408.82. • At the date of liquidation, £59,177.53, remained outstanding to HMRC in respect of CT. PAYE/NIC: • From August 2019 to 30 April 2024, the date of liquidation, £68,314.43 of PAYE/NIC, charges and interest was incurred. Payments and deductions of £8,284.70 were made so as at the date of liquidation £60,029.73 remained outstanding.
