On 29 October 2020 Sarah Ilyas (“Ms Ilyas”) caused 1SR Limited (“1SR”) to make a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application of £50,000 which she knew or ought to have known did not meet the terms of the scheme. Ms Ilyas made a wrongful declaration by overstating 1SR’s turnover, as a result 1SR has received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • 1SR was incorporated on 19 March 2018. • A business could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019. • Bank statements for the year 2019, show a turnover for the year of £354. • No further deposits into the bank account until 11 May 2020, bank statements show from 11 May 2020 to 30 October 2020 of £32,663 deposited into the company account. • Ms Ilyas applied for a BBL of £50,000 and stated the annual turnover for 1SR for 2019 was £200,000. • On 30 October 2020, a BBL of £50,000 was paid into 1SR’s bank account. • On 09 November 2022, 1SR entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with known liabilities of £50,727, of which £50,127 is owed in respect of the BBL.
