Steven Scott Glover (“Mr Glover”) failed to ensure that The Doormaker Limited (“Doormaker”) made payments when due to HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”) and caused and/or allowed Doormaker to trade to the detriment of HMRC from at least 07 August 2016 in relation to VAT and from at least 22 June 2016 in relation to PAYE and NIC, resulting in a liability of at least £237,156 to HMRC at the date of the liquidation in that: • Information provided by HMRC shows that Value Added Tax (“VAT”) of £125,580 is owed by the company, together with surcharges totalling £729; • HMRC information shows that Pay As You Earn tax (“PAYE”), National Insurance Contributions (“NIC”), and Construction Industry Scheme (“CIS”) liabilities totalling £107,245 are outstanding for the tax years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, together with penalties of £3,600, and interest of £3; • At Liquidation, Doormaker had unsecured creditors totalling £318,626, comprising its HMRC liability of £237,156, £29,000 owed to the bank, £26,000 to the directors, £14,469 trade creditors, and £12,000 scheduled as being owed to a connected company; • Payments from the bank account from 07 August 2016 to 26 February 2018 total £1,713,439, including at least £1,063,522 paid to trade and expense creditors, £132,882 to the directors, £79,420 to a family member and £54,110 to credit cards; • During the same period, payments totalling £5,098 were made to HMRC, however these cannot be seen being credited to Doormaker’s account, and it is therefore not clear on whose behalf this payment was made.
