- On 25 September 2020 Gul Nehar Begum (“Ms Begum”) caused Ashiana Monk Bretton Limited (“AMB”) to make a false application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) by providing false information to a lender to obtain a BBL totalling £50,000 when she knew or ought to have known that AMB was eligible for a BBL loan based on its turnover of no more than £20,913. • The Bounce Back Loan criteria allowed a company to borrow between £2,000 and a maximum of £50,000 based on 25% of the company’s turnover. • In the BBL application form completed and signed by her, she stated that the turnover for the 2019 calendar year was £205,000. • Extracts from the company’s financial statements show a turnover of £83,654 in the period 01 October 2018 to 30 September 2019 which would make it eligible for a loan of £20,913. • On 25 September 2020 a bounce back loan of £50,000 was paid into AMB’s bank account. • Creditors at the date of liquidation total £58,453 comprising of the £50,000 Bounce back loan, Trade and Expense creditors of £4,569, £3,791 owed to her and £93 to HMRC.
