OTHER NOTICES The effect of this amendment is to provide that a person who has been advised, by a relevant notification, that they have had contact with a person who has symptoms of coronavirus or has been infected by coronavirus, and that they should stay at home and self-isolate as a result, is deemed to be incapable of work, and therefore entitled to Statutory Sick Pay. This forms an important part of the NI Executive’s Contact Tracing strategy. These Regulations amend regulation 6(1) of the the Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seat Belts) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 by inserting an exemption from the requirement to wear a seat belt for persons riding in a motor ambulance while that person is providing medical treatment to a patient which due to its nature or the medical condition of the patient cannot be delayed. These Regulations revoke the Motor Vehicles (Wearing of Seat Belts) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2016 (S.R. 2016 No. 414).
