HOUSING ESTATE ROADS AND CAR PARKS
THE LEWISHAM (HOUSING ESTATE ROADS AND CAR PARKS)
(NO. 1) ORDER 2021
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lewisham Borough Council on
31st December 2021 made the above-mentioned Orders under the
powers of sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to introduce parking controls
in housing estate roads and car parks in or in the vicinity of housing
estate properties in Adolphus Estate, Allison Close, Aviary Estate,
Benden House Monument Gardens, Blessington Road, Burnett House
and Lacey House, Cedar House and Cypress House Erlanger Road,
Clarendon Rise, The Colonnade, Crossfield Estate, Dacre Park and
Lee Park, Dressington Avenue, Eliot Park, Evelyn Estate, Gilmore
Estate, Gilmore Road, Hatfield Close, Lovelinch Close, Lynch Close,
Mercator Road, Merryfields Way, Myrtle House and Rowan House
Erlanger Road, New Butt Lane Estate, Paynell Court, Ryculf Square,
Saxton Close, Sayes Court Estate, Tanner’s Hill Estate, Vaughan
Williams Close, Viney Road, and Wadcroft Court.
3. Residents’ parking places or parking bays will be provided on most
of the housing estates for the leaving of vehicles as either display or in
respect of which there has been granted either a valid residents’
permit, a valid visitors’ permit, or a valid contractor permit (for use by
housing estate maintenance contractors) at any time.
4. Existing disabled parking places or parking bays located within the
housing estates will be formalised as disabled person’s badge holders
parking places, in which vehicles displaying a valid disabled person’s
badge may be left at any time;
5. Electric vehicle recharging point parking places or parking bays will
be provided on some housing estates, for the leaving for the purpose
of recharging of electric vehicles at any time, subject to maximum
stay or no return periods, or both, where so signed.
6. Vehicles will be required to be left wholly within the limits of a
parking place or parking bay, and waiting will be prohibited at any
time on all other kerbside within a housing estate road or space within
a housing estate car park.
7. The parking charge in relation to the grant or issue of residents’ and
visitors’ permits will be as set out in the table in the Schedule to this
Notice.
8. Documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order can be
collected for inspection between 9 am and 5 pm on Monday to Friday
at the office of the London Borough of Lewisham, Laurence House, 1
Catford Road, London SE6 4RU. Please go to the security office at
the rear of the building and request a pack of documents for ‘Housing
Estates - TMO’. Alternatively, can also be obtained by emailing a
request to [email protected] quoting reference
‘Housing Estates - TMO’.
9. If any person wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any
of their provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the
powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any
requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under that Act has
not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the
date on which the Orders were made, apply for the purpose to the
High Court.
