The Rule revokes and re-enacts the Pension Schemes Act 2015 (Transitional Provisions and Appropriate Independent Advice) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2019 which would otherwise cease to have effect by virtue of section 85(3)(b) of the Pension Schemes Act 2015. It amends the Pension Schemes Act 2015 (Transitional Provisions and Appropriate Independent Advice) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015 to provide for a simpler process for trustees and scheme managers to value members’ pension savings, classified as ‘safeguarded benefits’, when determining whether the requirement to take financial advice applies.
