The purpose of this Statutory Rule is to provide for the annual inflationary increases to the cap on tuition fees for qualifying persons on qualifying courses at Northern Ireland higher education institutions for academic year 2019/20. The maximum amounts of basic and higher fee rate for the 2019/20 academic year will increase to £1,690 and £4,275 respectively. For an academic year of certain courses, for example ”sandwich courses”, lower basic and higher fee amounts will increase to £825 and £2,125 respectively. The Statutory Rule amends the Environmental Impact Assessment (Agriculture) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007. Its purpose is to transpose Directive 2014/52/EU, which amended Directive 2011/92/EU, in respect of assessing the environmental impact of agricultural projects which are likely to have significant effects on the environment. Copies of the Rule may be purchased from the Stationery Office at www.tsoshop.co.uk or by contacting TSO Customer Services on 0333 202 5070 or viewed online at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr DEPARTMENT FOR INFRASTRUCTURE THE MOTOR VEHICLES (AUTHORISED WEIGHT) AND (CONSTRUCTION AND USE) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2017 The Department for Infrastructure has made a Statutory Rule entitled “The Motor Vehicles (Authorised Weight) and (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2017” (S.R. 2017 No. 191), which comes into operation on 16th October 2017. The Regulations amend Northern Ireland legislation in order to ensure compliance with Commission Directive 2015/719 which lays down for certain road vehicles circulating within the European Community the maximum authorised dimensions in national and international traffic and maximum authorised weights in international traffic. The Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (Authorised Weight) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 in order to increase the maximum authorised weights permitted for certain alternatively fuelled vehicles. They also require a shipper to supply the haulier with a statement of weight of any container or swap body being transported, which they must make available to enforcement authorities. The Regulations also amend the Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1999 in order to increase the maximum authorised dimensions of various types of articulated vehicles engaged in intermodal transport operations. They also permit the use of alternatively fuelled vehicles without special authorisation provided that those fuel systems meet the required standards.
