For all locations described in the paragraphs above, the proposed changes would replace the existing restrictions at those locations. 3. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council, in accordance with sections 65 and 66 of the Highways Act 1980 intends to convert, modify or re-create certain lengths of the footway and carriageway space of Romford Road into segregated cycle tracks for use by cyclists only at the locations described below: (i) on the south-east side of Romford Road, from a point 40 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Vicarage Lane, north- eastward to a point 34 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb- line of Elm Road; and (ii) on the south-east side of Romford Road from a point 35 metres south-west of the south-western boundary wall of No. 316 Romford Road, north-eastward to a point 6 metres south-west of the south- western kerb-line of Green Street. The cycle tracks which will have a width throughout of between 1.8 and 2 metres are proposed to aid cyclists to link with existing and new cycle links and networks along key routes, and to avoid fast moving traffic on the carriageway. Priority is maintained for pedestrians when entering or crossing segregated cycle tracks from the footway. 4. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that, in pursuance of the Highways Act 1980 (Section 90A-90F), the Council proposes to construct Copenhagen Style blended raised crossings in Tavistock Road, Maitland Road, Faraday Road, Dyson Road, Warwick Road, Elm Road, Palmerston Road and Westbury Road at their junctions with Romford Road (shared highway and footway space for moving vehicles and pedestrians). These would be elevated sections of carriageway, between 75 mm and 100 mm higher at their highest points than the surrounding carriageway, or at an equal level with the surrounding carriageway and extending across the full width of the carriageway with the ramp gradients between 1:10 and 1:15 and with a length of up to 10 metres. 5. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that, in pursuance of the Highways Act 1980 (Section 90A-90F), the Council of the London Borough of Newham proposes to install: a) a raised table (road hump) in Romford Road, with its centre line at a distance of approximately 9 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Faraday Road; and b) a raised table (road hump) in Romford Road, with its centre line at a distance of approximately 8 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Dyson Road. The raised tables (road humps) would be constructed in accordance with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 and be no more than 100 mm in height, be flush with the existing kerb-lines and the ramps on each side would have a gradient of 1 in 20. 6. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council, in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has approved the provision of a new raised pedestrian/pedal cycle parallel crossing in Romford Road, the centre-point of which lies approximately 9 metres south-west of the south-western kerb-line of Faraday Road. There will be four zig-zag markings (approximately 8 metres) on each side of the crossing. The crossing would be situated on the raised table referenced in paragraph 5 a) above. CHURCH 7. FURTHER NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council, in accordance with Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, has approved upgrading the existing zebra crossing outside Nos. 158/160 Romford Road to a raised pedestrian/pedal cycle parallel crossing, the centre-point of which will lie approximately 8 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb-line of Dyson Road.
