IRELAND) 2016
The Department of Finance has made a Statutory Rule entitled "The
Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 (Levy)
Regulations 2025" (S.R. 2025 No. 120), which, having been affirmed
by the NI Assembly on 24th June 2025, will come into operation on
1st September 2025.
The purpose of the Statutory Rule is to give effect to the provision in
the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016
(section 5(1)) for the imposition of a levy on the Law Society of
Northern Ireland and the Honourable Society of the Inn of Court for
the purpose of raising an amount corresponding to the expenditure of
the Legal Services Oversight Commissioner incurred under or for the
purposes of the Act or any other statutory provision.

(Appeals) Regulations 2025" (S.R. 2025 No. 119), which, having been
affirmed by the NI Assembly on 24th June 2025, will come into
operation on 1st September 2025.
The purpose of the Statutory Rule is to give effect to provisions in the
Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016
(sections 21(1) and 40(1)) to specify the circumstances in which
appeals may be made to the High Court against determinations made
by the Complaints Committee of either the Law Society or the
Honourable Society of the Inn of Court of Northern Ireland.

2025" (S.R. 2025 No. 118), which, having been affirmed by the NI
Assembly on 24th June 2025, will come into operation on 1st
September 2025.
The purpose of the Statutory Rule is to give effect to the provision in
the Legal Complaints and Regulation Act (Northern Ireland) 2016
(section 2(4)) to set the maximum amount the Legal Services
Oversight Commissioner may require the Law Society or the
Honourable Society of the Inn of Court to pay as a penalty should the
professional body either fail to submit a plan which the Commissioner
considers adequate for the handling of complaints or fail to handle
complaints in accordance with its plan.

Plan (“the Plan”) intend to wind-up the Plan and wishes to trace any

Section 28 of the Trustee Act (Northern Ireland) 1958, that any person
that believes that he or she has a claim against, or an entitlement to a
pension or any benefit from, or interest in the Scheme is hereby
required to send particulars in writing within two months of the date of
publication of this notice of his or her claim or entitlement (together
with their full name, present address, date of birth, National Insurance
Number, details of the period of employment to which their claim
relates (where relevant), and the full name of the Scheme they were a
