THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE THE PUBLIC SERVICE PENSIONS ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) The Department of Finance has made an Order entitled 'The Public Service Pensions Revaluation Order (Northern Ireland) 2024', (S.R.2024 No.45), which comes into operation on 1st April 2024 or from 6 April 2024 for those schemes who have amended their revaluation process accordingly for 2024. The Order fulfils the Department of Finance's obligation under Section 9 of the Public Service Pensions Act (Northern Ireland) 2014 to make a pension related revaluation Order each year. The Order is used by public service pension schemes to uprate benefits accrued by active scheme members in each scheme year, with reference to the procedure set out in the scheme rules. All public service schemes with the exception of the Firefighters scheme currently apply a prices (CPI) related annual revaluation. This rule amends the Student Fees (Amounts) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2005 by increasing the basic and higher amounts of tuition fees that may be charged to full-time undergraduates in respect of an academic year beginning on or after 1st September 2024. This Statutory Rule also contains amendments to the Education (Student Support) (No. 2) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2009. It makes provision for support for students taking designated higher education courses in respect of an academic year beginning on or after 1st September 2024. Specified changes will come into effect when the regulations come into operation. It further amends the Student Fees (Qualifying Courses and Persons) Regulations 2007.
