Roads & highways ROAD RESTRICTIONS NOTTINGHAM CITY COUNCIL THE NOTTINGHAM CITY COUNCIL (RIVER TRENT CYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE) SCHEME 2024 NOTICE OF THE SUBMISSION OF THE SCHEME FOR CONFIRMATION Notice is hereby given that Nottingham City Council (“the Council”) have made and submitted to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation a Scheme under Section 106(3) of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the Council to construct a pedestrian and cycle bridge (“the Bridge”) over the navigable waters of the River Trent. The effect of the Scheme, if confirmed, will be to authorise the construction of the Bridge over the navigable waters of the River Trent commencing at The Basin (to the west of Portside Street) in the City of Nottingham and terminating on West Bridgford public footpath no. 12 in Lady Bay in the Borough of Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire. The Bridge will have a maximum single span of 87.0 metres, a maximum width of 5.2 metres, with a shared width of 4.0 metres for cyclists and pedestrians, a minimum headway clearance of between 6.0 metres and 6.3 metres and a minimum waterway clearance of 82.0 metres.
