HEATHROW AIRPORT TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC
(WASP ROAD AND WIRRA WAY) NO.1 ORDER 2023
Heathrow Airport Limited GIVES NOTICE that it intends to make the
above Order in exercise of its powers under Sections 14 and 16(1) of
the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), and all other
enabling powers, to enable the installation of electric charging points
works to take place at Terminal 5 Coach Park, Heathrow Airport.
The effect of this Order will be a temporary prohibition of driving for all
vehicles on Wasp Road and Wirra Way, for their entire length. Traffic
would be diverted via Wayfarer Road and T5 Roundabout, and
Widgeon Road. The provisions of any other temporary Orders, which
are made prior to commencement of this Order, are thereby revoked
by only in so far as they are affected by the restrictions imposed by
this Order.
This Order will come into operation on the 2nd August 2023 and will
remain in force at all times, for a maximum period of eighteen months,
or earlier if the works to which they’re related have finished. The
closure will be effective as soon as the relevant signs are erected and
will remain in place at all times when indicated by the traffic signs
prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions
2016. Traffic would be diverted to Camborne Road terminal forecourt
lanes.
Excepted from all the restrictions above include:
- Anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police
officer, traffic warden or traffic police community support officer in
uniforms;
- Vehicle used for ambulance, fire service or police purposes in an
emergency;
- Any vehicle proceeding in accordance with any restriction or
requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to section 66 or
section 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984;
- Any persons or vehicles used in connection with the works providing
that such persons have been authorised to enter the road closure
area.

GLC General Powers Act 1974.
The effect of the Orders would be to introduce new disabled parking
bays as specified in the Schedule to this notice.

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 14(1)
TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES FOR HIGHWAYS MAINTENANCE
– VARIOUS ROADS
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough
of Greenwich has made an Order to accommodate Highways
maintenance works under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984.
2. The effect of the Order will be to temporarily: a) prohibit vehicles
from entering, exiting, proceeding or waiting (including waiting for the
purposes of loading or unloading) in the roads or lengths of road
specified in the Schedule to this Notice.
3. The above restrictions would only apply at such times and to such
extent as shall be indicated by the placing or covering of the
appropriate traffic signs.
4. Whilst the closures are in operation, vehicular access to properties
affected by these works would be maintained wherever possible
subject to the extent and operations of the works. Alternative routes
for diverted vehicles would be available via local roads and would be
indicated via local signage.
5. The Order would come into force on 27th July 2023 and would
continue in force for up to 18 months, or until the works have been
completed, whichever is the sooner. The works would be conducted
on a ‘rolling’ programme and, as such, not all the restrictions stated in
paragraph 2 would be in force in all the effected roads.

of Greenwich intends to make an Order to facilitate works for testing
of recently installed barriers on the bridge deck section of Creek Road
under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(a) prohibit all vehicles from entering into, exiting from, proceeding in,
or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of loading or unloading)
in Creek Road, both sides, from its junction with Norman Road to its
junction with Copperas Street.

from, proceeding in, or waiting (including waiting for the purposes of
loading or unloading) in Creek Road, eastbound carriageway, from its
junction with Deptford Church Street to its junction with Copperas

extent as shall be indicated by the placing or covering of appropriate
traffic signs.
4. Alternative routes for diverted cyclists would be available and
indicated by local signage via Clarence Road, Riverside Walk,
Greenwich Reach Swing Bridge, Dreadnought Walk, Dowells Street
and Norway Street.
5. Alternative routes for diverted vehicles would be available and
indicated by local signage:
(a) For eastbound traffic via Creek Road, Deptford Church Street,
Deptford Bridge and Greenwich High Road.
(b) For westbound traffic via College Approach, King William Walk,
