Joanne Watkins (“Mrs Watkins”) caused Use Your Space Design & Build Ltd (“Design & Build”) to trade to the detriment of HM Revenue and Customs (“HMRC”) in respect of its Construction Industry Scheme (“CIS”) tax liabilities from, at the latest, February 2021 to 27 September 2022, when Design & Build ceased trading, in that: - In February 2021 Design & Build had an outstanding PAYE/CIS liability of £42,888. Between February 2021 and cessation of trading, Design & Build accrued further CIS liabilities totalling £111,412 and made no payments to HMRC from February 2021 to liquidation on 14 February 2023. In comparison, between February 2021 and 3 October 2022, Design & Build received £1,317,221 into its bank account and debits for the same period were £1,340,667. Total liabilities at liquidation amounted to £341,994, of which HMRC is the largest creditor with a claim of £291,062, comprising PAYE/NIC of £5,902.82, CIS of £167,354.51, assessed VAT of £114,404 and interest & charges of £3,399.72.
