A programme of ‘rolling’ 500m safety zones is to be established in the locality of each foundation, wind turbine and the offshore substation where construction, or major maintenance (during the operational- phase), is taking place, as indicated by the presence of construction, or maintenance, vessels and through the issue of Notices to Mariners. For partially completed infrastructure unaccompanied by a construction vessel, a 50m navigational safety zone has been applied for. The precise start date and co-ordinates of the Safety Zones will be detailed in the Notice to Mariners, prior to the commencement of construction and major maintenance operations.
