What it does
Waves Youth Choir was founded in September 2024 with the aim of providing children from ages 8 to 18 with the opportunity to learn together and perform together. It was incorporated as a CIC on 10th September 2024. This is its first year of operation. The choir presently rehearses for an hour on Saturday mornings during school term times. Activities During this year the choir has met for thirty one rehearsals. Rehearsals are conducted by one of the two joint musical directors, Jennifer Halliday and Alicia Lewins. They have the support of a regular accompanist, Andrew Palmer, and have averaged 10-11 members throughout the year. The choir has been invited to perform at the following events: Brentwood conference centre with the Essex Young People’s orchestra and other choirs. Hadleigh and Thundersley Cricket club charity event raising funds for the Samaritans. As invited guests to accompany the Alumnae Choir in concert.
